Created in observance of the 2008 Bicentennial of Licking County, OH, east of Columbus The quilt shows a map of Licking County embued with a sense of civic pride, with scenes of notable landmarks, legends, and resources associated with each particular community, and the years in which those communities were founded. This project was the result of the efforts of thirty-six dedicated quilters who were willing to share their time and quilting skills with the citizens of Licking County. Archival preservation of this unique and irreplaceable piece of fabric is necessary to its continued care. The quilt is rolled in a custom-made box and stored in a climate-controlled environment. The quilt remains in storage for a minimum of six months before making its appearance again.
